I received my Masters degree in social work from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. in 2010.
I have completed training from the Center for Deployment Psychology in cognitive and behavioral therapy for combat stress reactions, addressing the psychological health of warriors, treatment for depression associated with deployment, etiology and assessment of PTSD and evidence-based treatment of PTSD. I have also received training in Cognitive Processing Therapy, Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy, Exposure Therapy, Somatic Imagery and Ego State Psychotherapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) (EMDRIA approved training) and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) .
I held the position of clinical case manager at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in the Army Substance Abuse Program (ASAP) and I also completed internships at the D.C. Veterans Administration Medical Center as a therapist in the outpatient mental health clinic and at the Armed Forces Retirement Home located in Washington, D.C.
I have experience as a crisis counselor for a suicide hotline and as a therapist for a pro bono counseling program where I provided therapy for challenges such as depression, anxiety, PTSD and grief and loss.
I remain active as a volunteer pilot for an organization providing patient air transport for medical treatment and healing activities.
